Life's Rutted Trail
Hoisting myself up
On the back
Of a beautiful
Stallion
I feel powerful
The world
Mere feet from me
Though it feels like
Miles
The trails,
Bumpy and
Rough
Not knowing
What lies
Ahead
Sometimes
I fall
It feels as if
In that moment
I am
Lifeless
Looking around
Realization comes
I am
Alive!
I can go on
Feet in the
Stirrups,
I take hold
Of the reins
Continuing the journey,
The ride
Takes me
To new places and
New heights
I find a
Rhythm
That is
Perfect,
My horse
And I
Are one
And everyone
Has to
Ride
The mustang of
Life.
