Let it Rain
The trees shiver
And the words stumble.
He blows a quiver,
Which makes me rumble.
My belly’s in heavy heaves,
But that’s what Rain does to you.
Bright lights flashing,
Rash decisions made,
Hands, trees, clashing,
But please don’t be afraid.
How can I get the Rain to like me?
How can I calm my storm?
Why can’t the Rain see,
That I’m his sunshine?
I’m right in the mist of the storm,
He’s swirling through my head.
Dancing, hugging, hands in hold,
Singing, growing old.
I’d know his scent a hurricane away,
And I’d follow it where the sun don’t shine.
I can’t help but feel the Rain all around,
And I know it hears my every sound.
It truly is beautiful,
But neither will ever know . . .
We breathe the other’s breath
And step directly in each other’s shoes,
Even so our lives will never fuse.
