Our Story
When our song comes on the radio
It takes me back to when,
I first met you,
To our very last goodbye.
It takes me back to when,
I first began to laugh,
At the jokes we used to make,
On that morning road sunrise.
When our song begins to play,
I’m on that same old highway
that began to seem so long-
Without you by my side.
Listening to the lyrics
Made me think of how-
It Represented us to that very song-
When our song reminds me of the good times,
I think back to when you use to sing,
Like you thought you could be some idol man,
With your beautiful voice that could make the stand.
You blasted your music loud,
As if no one was watching,
And began to become your true self.
When you turned to me,
And grabbed my eyes for your attention,
I knew I was safe in those eyes of-
An honorable man.
When our song begins to dissipate,
I hum to the ending like a melody,
That begins to sound like a memory,
Like that soundtrack to that October Night.
Descending away,
Into what we thought was real once-
Us in harmony as one.
