Circus MAG
A sarcastic smile plays over her blood-stained lips
A brow raises as she surveys you with jaded eyes
So you want to be in this world, but do you?
Where everything’s masks and smoky glass?
You want to be here?
Where one misstep sends you plummeting to the ground?
Here?
Where we each struggle in our respective “professions”
But we all fight for the same things?
How odd.
Because if I was allowed to make this choice again,
I highly doubt that I would choose this.
But then again.
Maybe I would.
Who can resist the majesty of this life?
The sequined costumes,
The lively face paint?
I doubt I could,
Because this world draws you in,
With its glitter and gold –
But rarely lets you back out.
