is it okay with you if we never speak again?
Is it okay with you if we never speak again?
Selfishness dictates me and my heart would like to heal.
Still it pains me
(it cuts through me so deeply)
that it is no inconvenience to you when I'm gone.
You won't miss me, but
(is it okay if I miss you?)
I'll miss me,
falling victim to your shy glances, quick smiles, and open heart.
I'll miss the days, when we would count down before hanging up,
when there was less space between our words,
(before you said "I'm sorry" and before I said "Don't be")
when I thought I would never have to say,
"Good bye."
But
here I am,
thanking you for the moments, the memories, and the one choice
when my heart has given me none.
(Good bye.)
