Asking
The same question is asked.
Are you okay?
How are you?
What's wrong?
But I have a question for you.
Would you care if I wasn't?
Do you love me enough to help?
Don't you already know the answer?
"Are you okay?"
I sit here on my knees in front of you,
Unable to stand.
But, yes, I am okay.
"How are you?"
You see my smile,
Though you know that it's fake.
But, don't worry, I am fine.
"What's wrong?"
A chuckle escapes from my lips,
Because laughing hurts less than telling the truth.
But, so you know, it's nothing.
If you really want to know,
If you promise not to treat me as a broken toy that must be fixed,
If you love me
Then hear me when I say this.
I am not okay,
I am terrible, trapped in loneliness,
And, everything is wrong.
Stop asking.
