It stings and burns,
Yet feels amazing.
It races through my veins like antifreeze,
It warms me like whiskey.
It sparks and sings,
And howls its fury.
It is a jealous beast,
Yet a caring ember.
It can be a harsh embrace,
Or a tender caress.
It is a flame, flickering and beautiful.
