The Overdose
You lay there unmoving
moments and memories of the day
still linger in the air
your clean syringes and spoon
laid out
funny, how easily we fall victim
to the lies of everyday life
like things won't get better
things can't get better
I feel that you're like your father
the hard man he was, I mean is
But you were most like your mother
God bless her heart
they're conversations we have yet to finish and promises that need to be kept
I wonder what it was like for the person that found you
is that a morbid question?
I'm sorry,I didn't mean to be rude
But guess there is nothing else to say
except
why did you go so soon
