It started like a song
It started like an old country song
all nostalgia and craven
craving
and full of lust
laced with whiskey
and a breath of fresh air
She was my camera girl
I her Glasses Boy
And half a world away
from home
We loved
It started like the first kiss
all drumrolls and expectation
We said "I love you"
And it was revelation
defloration
of what we used to be
and like links in a chain
we connected
nine hundred thirty six miles away
Far from broken hearts and hot meaningless nights
my green light across the sound
she brightens
