The Nothing
A sea of nothing envelops me
threatens to fill my mouth, my ears and my eyes
blind me and carve out my insides.
Fill me with its shallow forever gray
and drown me inside out.
I pray for the nothing to leave me alone,
as deep violet tissue peels from my skin like petals
and turns to gray ash in the nothingness
my veins leak their precious liquid
And I am left hollowed out.
An empty shell goes about my day
as the bleak horizon stretches thin,
wavers
then goes on.
Gray fades to white and I crash.
Skin and bones I am
in between there’s nothing left.
