sleep
Laying in bed, resting my head.
Thinking about the sky, what’s up there so high?
It is not in the day that my thoughts go astray.
Only at night, my mind takes flight.
I lay there wondering what life could be,
with all of this beautiful nature like water, wind, and trees.
So many great things to live for, but then every time,
my mind begins thinking about war, hate, and crime.
The most absurd thoughts come rushing to my head.
like who came up with the colors green, blue and red?
Thinking of everything and nothing at the same time.
Laying and dreaming as family comes to my mind.
Some thoughts are good and others are bad
I reminisce on memories I’ve had
Am I thinking hard, or hardly thinking?
All that I know is my eyelids are sinking
With all of this dreaming, down and deep.
I really need to fall asleep.
