Advice to a freshman
Your freshman year;
The beginning of high school
And then end of middle school.
Things are completely different.
Here’s some help.
If that old, rusty locker
Gets stuck, don’t be a self repairman.
Don’t give up because the problem will
Still be there and you’ll still be late to class.
Befriend the man who walks the halls with the broom
And the MasterKey.
Know your teachers; who is out
To help any student and who
Wants to see if you’ll break.
And time for the cheesy message;
Always do your homework because
It fills in the gaps when
The fiendish ecology test
Hands you a grade you
Can’t look at, each homework
Point will help.
Always keep in mind,
Even though it feels like just another year,
There next four may just
Determine your life course.
You never know.
