Sniffing Like an Idiot
since he’s left
i’ve been to
every store,
every shop,
sniffing colognes
and aftershaves
to find his smell,
but it appears
to be lost.
and so it is
only now,
that i regret
washing the only
sweatshirt he
ever gave me,
because when
his smell was gone,
he was too,
and so was
the part of me
that kept all my
emotions intact
