Cancer
Everyone I love
has had cancer
and it's scary
I hear stories
about the ones who are gone
and it makes me grateful
because when the ones I love
have had cancer
they spring back
the are never held down
and they don't stop
though for a while
I did
I'm I selfish
For still being sad
they have stopped thinking about it
so I should too
but every little thing
reminds me of it
a hard rock
a crying child
a pink butterfly
a song
but I have to stop and smile
or that beautiful smile
might try
and hide from me
