The Elation of Starvation

Terrible-terrible emotions are,
why do I have to feel?
for tears and fury do no favors,
get rid of them all!
paint the rambunctious colors over with a silent gray
one more mile, one more set,
do not chew and swallow,
the elation of starvation;
the zero calorie bliss,
I float above them all,
I'm the princess of perfection-
the queen of control,
nothing phases me,
no more tears to be shed,
for you can't cry if you are half-dead.

Eating disorders are not just about weight and food. They are a complex emotional problem. I hope this poem will help others understand this.
