Fibers pinched from coloring book prose
Fabricate formulaic portraits; a moving picture cannot see
Outside the lines.
Glance behind silver screens, where spindly tendons gesture
To their marionettes, rewind,
Fade out in turn,
Repeat.
Scathing bulbs spit phantoms of glamour and eye shadow, lips
Enunciate with cyclic precision, distinguished from their predecessors only by
Flecks of dust that gather with each passing audience.
