Dry Eyes

Her tears did not stream from her eyes, or fall softly from her chin.
The scraped past the corners like sandpaper, and struggled to flee her dry gaze.
Once they had escaped the evaporated off her warm, glowing cheeks.
Her eyes did not swell, or turn bloodshot red.
The were immaculate, and almost dry.
And yet, by far, her tears were more meaningful than most.
In those tears you could see the pain, the agony,
and the sadness that she tried so dearly to hold in.
