Neverland
Tilt your head to the left and close
your eyes, JD.
Enjoy the fantasy of a place called
NeverLand.
Dreams a drug, the placebo to reality.
Take some fairy dust, think some happy thoughts.
And lift off, cause you can fly, you can fly, you can fly
to your happy place, a world made of lies.
Become dependent on dream
and never feel the real thing.
The happiest thoughts are the thoughts
of the things you can’t have.
Dreams are the things confined inside your mind
every time your eyelids fall
Leaving you blind to the flowers in the prison yard
The more time spent wishing
is the more you fall behind
to the people chasing their dreams.
Wasted time in NeverLand is another
thing lost.
They say “Visualize your success and watch it follow”
but we all stop at step number one
and maybe leave the rest for tomorrow.
