Skinny

When I was a kid,
I was given the wrong impression about my size.
I'm not going to get picked on.
No one will laugh at me.
The other kids will like me.

As a kid,
I wasn't overweight.
I was underweight
and there was nothing I could do.
No matter what, or how much I ate, nothing could make the little number go up.

When I was kid,
Others thought I had anorexia.
They asked if I ate anything.
If I chose not to eat my sandwich at lunch, that made it worse.

Even now,
I want to gain weight,
but I just can't.
Out of all my years,
I never once believed anyone who said I was 'lucky.'
