Take Flight
This day started no different than the last.
Then in the blink of an eye, a moment’s flash,
The present ruined the future and took a soul from the past.
All this madness from one simple crash.
I found myself questioning my faith last night.
I said, “God, this can’t be right.
Why do people die?
How come we have to cry?
It seems so unfair.
Do you even care?”
The answer to my hopeless prayer came from nowhere.
A thought came to me,
Why before did I not see?
The ones we love have to move on.
The grief will be strong,
But we have to say goodbye,
So the angels can learn to fly.
