Heaven
I was playing softball
I always am
when something incredible happens
I looked up and saw it
A dove so beautiful
And pure
It couldn't even be called white
Formed to perfection in the clouds
No one else noticed
To them it was another cloud
But to me it was
The bird of heaven
With a nest of pure gold
nestled on its back
My coach was yelling
Probably for me to stop gaping at the sky
But I didn't hear
I was to intent on the dove's silent song
I jumped
Hoping to grab hold of it
But in my longing
Forgot that it was to high for me to reach
