Longing to Satisfy
There's so much deeper I long to go
So much closer I want to be
Swallowed up in your mighty love
What I'm giving now just isn't enough
This world will try to sway my heart
Try to push and pull me apart
But only your touch does satisfy me
Bind my heart to yours so i am free
I raise my hands and feel your presence
Close my eyes as you embrace
For a moment I seem to know the very essence
Of this mighty God who wraps me in grace.
But when the music stops
And the silence rings loud
Am I just another lost soul
Struggling in the crowd?
Each day I need to be
Wrapped in your majesty
Bringing glory to your name
Instead of sinking in this shame
Theres a closeness I desire
A relationship like no other
I want you to take me higher
So i can walk side by side with the
Father
Let your word take root within
And keep my mind focused on you
Strengthen me until I begin
To love you the way you want me to
May every desire of this world pass
As I continually seek your face
Until at last I'm one with you
And a sip of your sweet rain i taste
