Passive Glory
For to homeland, for to father, for to duty now, goodbye!
They march into the crossfire for this politician's lie.
God sheds a tear and watches as his sons are left to die,
The chessboard stands at stalemate as Death's arms are opened wide.
Smoking rich cigars, it is their dice to roll,
The generals deal the cards and their slaves pay the toll.
For what the darkest nightmares of passive glory make,
Are rows of pawns with puppet strings, prepared for their mass graves.
What sadistic side of men fuels the battles they have fought,
Does love only occur to them, a transitory thought?
With their superficial cause of peace they sacrifice their sons,
To fill the pit of hate in them that will never be undone.
So Johnny got his gun in the factory where they sell,
Those brainwashed children to be ordered to the very gates of hell.
