The Karave
In the evening if you walk on the beach
And look out to the sea,
You'll see twenty long thin poles
And they'll be quite empty.
These twenty poles
Involve the ancient caste of Karave,
For on these poles the fisher-folk
Go fishing in the bay.
Early morning if you walk on the beach
You'll see twenty fishermen and a pole for each,
And sitting or standing in an indescribable way
You'll see the fisher-folk, the Karave.
