Take me away
Take me away, dear friend,
To a place we've never been before
where we aren't expected to know better
Take me away to the drive-in theater
To make ourselves one with the darkness
Take me away to a place we can dance
a place we can scream, a place we can be,
Take me away on a tiny sailboat, just big enough for the two of us
To the land of my dreams
So that we may run in the honey-baked sun
And fall on the grass-oh so green-
And stare at the sky-oh so blue and cloudless-
-oh so beautiful and clueless-
And lose ourself in the intensity of our own silence.
Take me away on a flying, convertible car,
To see what we can make ourselves into,
To see what we can make of the world
No one else but each other
Take me away for the night, dear friend,
And let's never return.
