Key to Life

Take a breath,
Don’t give a damn,
Life has nothing left,
I once had hopes,
But education is misleading,
I am now swallowed in debt.
My mother told me,
College is key,
I listened to ever word,
But education,
Led to boredom,
Look mum where I am now.
Memorized dates,
Graphing and speeches,
All just good and fine,
But now the real world,
Now the adult world,
Is nothing like the one I left behind.
Paying bills,
Buying food,
Bosses always say no,
Education was fun when it lasted,
But it didn't prepare me for the real world.
