Sadness
Sadness bubbles
over flow metal pot.
Wooden ladle sits
empty as a woman’s heart
half-submerged in boiling pot
Rain,
a phantom of white snow
awaken teardrops.
Pull over red rain coat.
Shoes of filthy flora
knee deep in garden.
Orchids stained in teardrops
like dewy eyelashes
blow over.
Wait for rain to fall
on white skin.
Wade into reflective pools
till sunlight seeps through
flooded pavement.
Eyes dry up.
Head clears.
And the earth and sky may talk again
in peace.
