When Love is Love
Love is not defined with a man and a woman
Maybe with feeling
maybe with a strong bond, a connection
maybe with an unbreakable red string of fate that just screams out
"Let these two people be together! Let them live the life that they've always wanted to share together,
hand in hand! Let them have the ability to wake up next to each other and just say I love you!
Let them
Just please, let them be happy.”
Because this love is real
this love is unwavering and has been spreading like a wildfire
I can feel the passion
the happiness
the desire
I can see the devotion
the loyalty
the scintillating spark to light any fire
in even the darkest or coldest of winters
this love, a gem
more beautiful than any diamond
than any pearl
than any sapphire
Can you deny them?
Can you deny them love?
Can you say that this is not enough
to reach the other seas
to reach farther than the sky above
to reach the blazing sun
to reach every single god and goddess in this universe
and even have them praying up
to reach the brightest of shooting stars and have them wishing on us
down here
to create a change
or all that I've said and written on here will have been in vain
because I can see it
I can feel it
what they have
To others it may be hard to grasp
what I pray for
what I wish for
with a dandelion
with an eyelash
what trembles the Earth's core
what gives the moon its light
what makes the waves come back to shore
what makes the mornings so bright
strong enough to break down the Berlin Wall
yet more gentle than a mother’s palm
more tantalizing than the sight of heaven
more valuable than the hardest life lesson
more precious than what a pen is to a writer
a boxing ring to a fighter
a web to a spider
venom to a viper
they have blinded me with their beautiful ways
It is the world’s saving grace
what transcends death
I will ask once again
Can you deny them?
Because love is not defined with a man and a woman
It is not defined by us
Who are we to judge
When love is love
