In Spite of Fear
Titillating tingles turn tempers to terrors,
Looming limbs leer length-wise longingly:
You yearn for your yesterday.
Footsteps free-fall finely; fighting for fear
In intrepid idiocy I invade into isolation,
Ducked down, damned and dappled in darkness
No nicotine night-light knocks (never known)
And adamant antagonists ascribe an acute
Set of silent screams, sang sincerely
From forgone flight
In imparted spite
Of fear.
