I Understand Your Concern, Sun
I understand your concern, sun.
Not seeing me for days at a time,
Peering in at me through my window,
Head in my hands,
Crying,
Begging the universe to just tell me what to do.
I understand your concern, sun.
My addiction to the finer things,
Living my life like a fairy tale,
Never paying attention to the reality of it all,
Always expecting more than I deserve,
Pretending I have any true meaning in this world.
I understand your concern, sun.
My fear of the outdoors.
No,
Not the outdoors,
But the people who live and breathe in the outdoors,
The fear of dealing with them,
The fear of dealing with my problems with them.
I understand your concern, sun.
Living in my cold,
Lonely room,
Never breathing your warm,
Fresh,
Everlasting air,
Feeling undeserving of the happiness that comes from it,
Just hiding from the open palms of the world as a whole.
I understand your concern, sun.
But you just don't understand me.
