Broken.
I saw her again today,
the girl with the sunk in eyes, tangled hair, and broken smile.
You can tell she hasn’t eaten in days; all she is, is skin and bones.
She acts happy around her friends, laughs and smiles.
You can tell she is broken inside, that she cry’s herself to sleep every night.
I asked her if she was doing okay and tried to make small talk
She said she was fine and gave me that broken smiles of hers.
Sometimes I wonder what goes on through her head
While everyone else thinks of their friends or what they were doing after dance class
As she was thinking of standing over a tall building about to take the jump
I feel bad for her, but I know how hard I try I can’t help her,
All I can do is listen.
