Why Do We Try?
I don't even see why I try anymore.
It all gets ruined so easily.
It's like building a house of cards up and spending so long on it,
and as soon as someone walks by,
the breeze blows it over.
There it is,
ruined.
Then all you are left with is
deciding whether to fix it or leave it there,
watching to see if it will build itself back up again.
But the truth is,
it will always be broken
until someone decides to fix it.
You can sit there
wondering if its worth the work or not,
but if you sit there too long
then it won't even matter.
Sooner or later
your chance to build it up again
is going to blow away like your house of cards,
and you are just going to sit there
and expect it to come back.
It won't come back.
It will be gone forever.
After your chance is gone,
so is everything else;
The memories,
the effort,
everything.
It's nothing more
than a ghost of your past
and all you can do
is forget and wait
for another deck of cards
to come along for you to build up again.
