Concert
Put one hundred of my kind
on a field one summer night
watch us light it up like stars.
A tingling charge fills the air
a whole new
renewable energy source
eternal,free, dangerous,
we glow if you're watching closely.
It starts with the music.
It always starts with the music.
A pulse, the bass, the heartbeat
makes us stretch for something
we can't see, draw closer to
feel the heat in the crowd.
The scent of fire, and recklessness
We're all delicately balanced,
hovering on the balls of our feet,
ready
set
go.
When we dance, it's a high,
we can hear nothing
but the music
feel nothing
but the power and joy of living
see nothing
save each other
and the stars.
When the dawn opens the heavens
all we can do is smile,
drained and radiant.
Yeah, we're crazy,
we're geniuses but
the dumbest things this
side of the moon,
We're Earth's greatest resource
We will live forever.
We
are
young.
