A Broken Beat
There are shattered pieces of a broken beat on the sleeve where her heart used to be.
There's a wall of steel that's rusted, worn and fading,
Covering a hole where she should feel.
He stood alone and unwavering as he took a hammer to the wall,
Bending the fears of betrayal,
Mending the hopes of renewal,
Reviving a chance of love.
The wall crumbled at his feet and behind the dust he did see,
The woman of his dreams.
A woman whose sleeve was covered in the red of a broken beat,
A beat sewn together piece by piece,
From the love of she... and the love of he.
The love of you and the love of me.
