Sand & Time
I look into your eyes
Knowing it is time
I squeeze your hand as I wipe a tear off your face
The sand is against us
Each grain weighing a ton
Thump. Thump.
I don't want to say goodbye.
I don't want to find someone else.
I hate that stupid sound
The hollow echo of time working and accelerating
Father Time must be jealous if he is taking you away from me
I fight a sob as your hand goes limp
Your eyes no longer see
The monitor no longer has rhythm
Time, what did he do to offend you so much?
He was my one and only
Now-
I am sad and lonely
