The Four Walls That Confine
The darkness surrounds me,
Never able to see the light of day
I scream, scream, scream
But my screams are all in vain
Around the four walls that keep me locked inside
Is the world that’s always changing, moving, never stalling for the weak
But my world has stopped, dead without ever getting a chance to get out of the headlights
I am not weak, but my strength is almost gone
I bid my time, but I bid it for too long
I took my chance, but I overshot and failed
Now i’m barely living in the four walls that confine
I made them brick by brick (choice by choice), thinking I was making stairs
Now i’m stuck inside the life that I created
All my hope has faded
And wrapped around me are the four walls that confine
