Selfish Sorrow
The winds of defeat
The sorrows of the poor
The neglected children who love no more
The overwhelming sadness
When crying on a grave
Of a man who you know you treated like a slave
The fact of the matter is that no one really cares
Who you wound or kill
Until the pain is theirs’
This society which has been built
On lies and cheated love
No longer holds a place in my heart
No longer fits in my glove
Finally, I feel I fell
Without a helping hand
Because everyone I trusted pushed me head first into quick sand
Please leave me be in my misery
Until I find my way
Down the path which once led me astray
