The Rain

The eternal cloud covers.
The drops splash and splutter
An endless pattern of rain.
The constant music plays.
No melody, no tune,
But beautiful all the same.
Sadness and longing.
The rain feels this
But it is just rain.
Forever there but lost.
No soul gives a care
To the clouds and their tears.
So the rain keeps pouring,
Pouring loss, defeat, pain,
And hope.
Rain.
