Not a Single Thing
All my life I chased my heart
As it tumbled on the wind
and sailed upon the sea
Always one step ahead,
it lost me in the tunnels
of my own despair,
only to reappear on the
other side of the glass.
I struck the mirror with
all my might, but the
reflection barely rippled
It wasn’t until I had shed
a tear that a tiny
crack blossomed,
And when that jeweled
armor shattered,
I knew that
I had never felt
a single thing
