The Road to Healing
The next step was lost in the chaos,
In a room full of staircases.
All ending somewhere unseen.
All containing a measure of uncertainty.
Some end where they started.
Others spiral further into darkness.
Many come to an abrupt stop,
Crashing down after brief improvement.
Countless seem helpful and
Even bring you to small patches of relief
But the walls of this prison have simply expanded temporarily
And soon come twist even what once was led to beautiful solace.
The darkest of them lead into the unimaginable;
Those once taken cannot be returned from.
There is only one that leads to freedom.
It is narrow and old, littered with many holes and rusty nails.
Walking its journey is not one of ease,
It bring much heartache and unwanted turmoil.
Often leading to seemingly the opposite of the goal you set to reach
But take heart it is just a pit stop on the way to healing.
