Good Morning Sunshine
Sheets of gold slowly rose from the rounded corners of the Earth
My eyes lay content on the illuminated buildings
Becoming overtaken by the crawling light
Silence boomed off the concrete
Flesh of fiberglass masses
Painted yellow with freckles of a brilliant pink
Streaking through the air
Breathing life into the still city
For mere minutes I felt infinite in a place alive with color
Until the prismatic hues grew weary and fell to the ground
Leaving the city in its prior dead and emotionally vacant presence
