The Flaming Heart
On nights when you feel small
Like a rock
Tossed,
Rustled,
And worn
Helpless beneath the raging waves of the ocean
That batter you with
Rejection,
Loss,
And helplessness
Or worse even the idea that you are inadequate
Know that beneath these waves the rock still exists
And beneath you
Although you are
Tossed,
Rustled,
And worn
Beats a heart
Which is a constant reminder
That you live
And where there is life
Your words,
Your dreams,
Your passions,
Can change the fragile limits of our “reality”
Set fire to your heart
And may its embers burn as fireworks through the world
