Sadness
It settled in my bones, the fatigue
Deep into the marrow, built its nest
Next the slight sorrow, bittersweet
But familiar, like an old friend
As every other aspect of my life slowly departed
I began to look forward to it.
The only constant
At the end of each day it overwhelmed me, and I succumbed to it
And as time wore on it defined me
Overtook me in every waking moment
The urge to leave my bed left me
And I faded off into the blackness.
