I Love You
The phrase has been repeated, overused
To the point of obsolescence
And I simply couldn't comprehend why
It hadn't been articulated more artfully
If, after all it was worth so much.
But darling, when I look at you
My heart surges, swells
With warmth: golden, effervescent, invincible
Realization dawns on me
That those words, those three
Mean so much more than they seem.
