Grey
That morning
I wished so much
That you didn’t have to leave
I could have stayed with you as the sun came up
Covered in warmth
Until we decided to get breakfast
But you had to leave early
So we rose before the sun
And when you hugged me goodbye, you held on
Dimples retreating from your cheeks
Holding my head under your chin
I didn’t go to the living room
Because I did not want to watch you go
And the day went with no sun
No warmth
Only grey
