Swallowed
There once was a girl who stood in the sea
The water brushed against her knees
And this is where she had forever longed to be.
In the night it was a trance, still
No sound but the wave’s crash and the water’s trickle and trill.
But as they say, the sun shall always rise
And the girl falls into hysteria when she opens her eyes.
For the night is a mirage, created by the salty fog of the sea
And only in her dreams, can she be free.
The dawn’s break is a dying man, gasping for his last breath,
While the eventide brings a world without death.
When the sun rises over the sand dunes with its ghostly ray
And truths, open they lay
The girl is swallowed by the light of day
