The Disappeared Day
Young children,
wide imaginations,
they can be anything they want.
Playing in the garden,
with their minds carefree.
Playing the game they’ve always loved.
Three of them running and yelling
under the bright blue sky,
until it turns pink and fills with clouds.
Mothers shouting for them to come inside,
until tomorrow when they can play again.
Tomorrow arrives and they open their eyes
to realize it’s been four years.
The ground is cold and their schedules are busy.
The children’s favorite spot is now just a memory.
