The Frightening Touch
The touch
of memories on a path
is soft and smooth
like a cloud or balloon
it was a river flowing;
a waterfall splashing
she loved it but was frightened
frightened of the memory getting too close
the touch of the memory left scares
she wanted them to leave
the memory was no longer smooth
the river stopped flowing
the waterfall stopped splashing
she closed to her eyes to forget the memory
to forget the touch
to forget the world
and when she opened them
she no longer felt
