It was the morning sunrise; we had stayed up all night to watch like in the movies, except we weren’t in love.
Waves crashed up onto the shore and the wind warmly whistled creating a beautiful environment. He hadn’t made it clear it was his last night here, we wandered the beach and laughed and played, this was simplicity.
The sun began to shine in his eyes as he caressed his hands through the sand anxiously. That night we sat on the beach and talked all night. His words were sweet as candy but i knew they meant nothing as I noticed something was off. I noticed the way his eyes no longer lit up when he talked about the future; I noticed he no longer believed his dreams could be a reality. Words cold as a winter’s night

slipped from his lips while I had no response. I watched him silently as for I had run out of things to say.
As the sun said hello we exchanged our goodbyes. Our last night was a short eternity; feeling as if it was going to last forever but ended abruptly.
The way his voice had changed then still stomps through my ears, cold and ashamed, scared.
My questions seized to find answers and I was left in confusion.
Something a shrug of the shoulder wouldn’t shake off the thickness and tension I had felt.
He left me hoping; thinking it will get better,
Thinking it was no big deal
It was a strange morning, and i did not see him again.
