You go to school and put a smile on your face
Trying to forget what you go home to and have to embrace
You look like a normal happy teen girl on the outside
But on the inside is sickness like you’ve rode a thousand roller-coaster rides.

When going home you take your time finding anything to distract you
As if your mother would care about anything you do
You’ve thought about never going back
But then remember that you forgot to pack.

Friends try getting you short sleeved shirts and say their buying
But it’s the bruises under the sleeves that make you keep lying
You tell them your cold natured and really pail
But the truth is you just don’t want to show and tell

You’re afraid to be judged by others
But yet you wish you had one of their mothers
One to tell you they love you and to have a good day
But you got one who does things you don’t want to say

Finally you decide enough is enough
And you’re standing by the counselors ‘door trying to be tough
You’re tired of hiding the bruises
Tired of being the one who always loses

You want to stop hiding the tears
Stop hiding all your fears
Forget about the use
Forget about hiding the abuse
